I’ve always made art. As a child, I confiscated my mom’s oil paints from her painting class. I majored in art and art history in college (lots of printmaking and photography). I feel at home in museums.

I’ve been a graphic designer for over 30 years. I worked on the earliest Apples. And although I’ve just starting to paint again, I’m having endless fun creating patterns digitally.

My memory is visual. I’m always taking snapshots in my brain.

I’m obsessed with color—nuances of color, interaction of color, color in nature, what moods color evokes. I’m fascinated by form in space. Light and shape. Movement or stillness. The similarities or dichotomy—how things interact—or don’t.

Surface pattern design is an extension, expression, and outlet for my obsession with beauty, harmony, and synthesis of all things visual.

Everyone deserves to live in an environment that enhances their lifestyle. Environments can soothe, excite, and inspire.

Whether it’s a conscious recognition, or totally subliminal—surrounding one’s self with beauty brings joy. My hope is to share a piece of that joy.
